Spraypaint and emulsion on reclaimed wood. From Franks 'Corpus Opus' (Body of work) These paintings encourage the viewer to contemplate the relationship between the natural and the manmade as symbols for the distribution of wealth and power in capitalist society. This painting is the first and flagship piece of this series. The fish in this painting follow on from the fish in the Fishtank mural on Portobello Lane on the side of the Low Fell Removals. (A collaboration by Artista, Eyes and Frank Styles). The fish cannot get to enjoy the wine, meanwhile the kingfisher enjoys not only the wine but easy access to the fish themselves.
This piece uses a combination of household emulsions, spray paint applied freehand and with stencils. The wood is fully stabilised and the piece is protected and sealed by professional spray varnish.
