Fictilis Panel 1
Spraypaint and emulsion on reclaimed wood. From Franks 'Corpus Opus' (Body of work) These paintings encourage the viewer to contemplate the relationship between the natural and the manmade as symbols for the distribution of wealth and power in capitalist society. This painting diverges from the body of work towards a more abstract and less symbolic piece. It is reminiscent of Franks origins as a graffiti artist, the black acting like a 3D shadow often found in graffiti lettering.
This piece uses a combination of household emulsions, spray paint applied freehand and with stencils. The wood is fully stabilised and the piece is and sealed by professional spray varnish.
